Off road revolution

Design Features
For the Audi Q7, our designers have defined a vehicle concept that is entirely new. The classic, square, two-box design of earlier SUVs has been translated into an individual, flowing shape, and the Audi Q7 boasts one of the most sporty designs in the premium SUV segment. Its proportions, together with the coupé-like roof line and the streamlined rear spoiler, give a dynamic appearance.

You know immediately that this is no normal SUV.

Exterior styling
Contrasting lower bumper sections at the front and rear, together with the lower door trims, provide an effective contrast to the paintwork, underlining the robustness of the Audi Q7. The lower zone consists of darker, matt-coloured mouldings as standard, though a special contrasting paint finish with a high-grade metallic paint finish is available as an optional extra.

Interior
The interior of the Audi Q7 reflects the strong character of a performance SUV – driver-oriented and sporty on the one hand, sophisticated and multifunctional on the other. Ingenious design solutions such as bottle holders and storage compartments
in the doors emphasise the blend of practical utility and aesthetic appeal.

Interior Space
The amount of space available, the sense of roominess and the way space is used are key elements in a premium SUV. The Audi Q7 sets new standards, with a competition-beating front shoulder width (1,475 mm), the interior length (1,797 mm) and the remarkable luggage compartment length of 1,201 mm (+80/-20 with adjustable second row of seats) as well as the maximum load area depth of 2,038 mm.

Inlays
In addition to the optional inlay, Aluminium Marlin silver, three high-grade woods are available – Walnut from America, Tamo ash from Japan and Olive ash from Europe. Meanwhile, optional aluminium-look air outlets, aluminium inserts in the wood trims as well as trim rings or bars on combination surrounds, switches
and control elements add to the air of sophistication.

Wraparound tailgate
The aluminium wraparound tailgate doesn’t just look good, thanks to its dynamically curving shape - in technological terms it’s an innovation. Despite the greater thickness of the sheet metal, its weight is around 7.5 kg less than that of an equivalent version made from sheet steel. As a result, the tailgate is light but sturdy.

Performance Features
The 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine in the Audi Q7, with the latest common-rail fuel injection and piezo injectors, represents the ultimate in diesel technology. Its awe-inspiring maximum torque of 500 Nm is available from as low an engine speed as 1,750 rpm, and guarantees optimum accelerator-pedal response and brisk acceleration in every speed range, for dynamic driving pleasure and performance. In concrete terms, the Audi Q7 is dynamic and agile on the road, powerful and commanding off it.

Firm, reliable braking
Acting together with highly efficient systems such as Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and the optional adaptive cruise control, the brake system is capable of slowing and stopping the Audi Q7 rapidly and reliably in every situation, even when the loads on the vehicle are very severe.

Servotronic steering
The servotronic steering is direct, precise and responsive, designed to satisfy the active driver’s needs at country and main road speeds.

Axle Design
The axles of the Audi Q7 are designed to maintain a consistently high level of agility, dynamism and safety at all speeds and loads, whatever road conditions are encountered.

6-speed tiptronic transmission
In order to convert engine performance efficiently into traction, the transmission is rated to handle high torques. The 6-speed tiptronic automatic transmission used for the Audi Q7 has ideal ratios for smooth on and off road travel.

Off-road Design
The Audi Q7 is built for off-road. The wheel track, ground clearance and front and rear overhangs enable it to overcome even severe obstacles easily. Meanwhile, new functions such as the ESP off-road mode and the hill descent assistant make driving even easier and safer.

Technology Features
With a 25-year history of permanent four-wheel-drive innovation, it’s no surprise that Audi’s first SUV offering leaves the competition standing. Advanced petrol and diesel technology lets you power forward efficiently, while the Audi Q7’s adaptive air suspension and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) ensure the ultimate in off-road handling.

ESP
The Electronic Stability Programme reacts in 0.02 seconds to bring hazardous situations under control. By monitoring wheel speeds, slip angles and the position of the steering wheel, ESP can apply brakes and reduce power to individual wheels until full traction and control is restored.

Quattro four-wheel-drive
quattro is at the core of Audi's innovative technology. Whether you’re on or off-road, quattro distributes power symmetrically when you need it for an agile drive that’s pure pleasure.

Audi Q7 3.0 TDI
TDI technology gives this efficient V6 diesel engine fantastic torque and in-gear acceleration. Peak torque is 500Nm and power output of 236PS. Fuel consumption over combined cycle is 10.5 l/100 km and combined CO2 emissions are 282g/km.

Audi Q7 4.2 FSI®
Experience the breakaway power of a V8 petrol engine with Fuel Stratified Injection technology (FSI). Power output is an impressive 355PS, fuel consumption over combined cycle is 13.6 l/100 km and combined CO2 emissions equal 326g/km.

Adaptive air suspension
A luxury SUV’s handling must be responsive but also smooth. Adjustable suspension modes - an Audi world first - deliver the superior ride quality and immediacy of response demanded for on and off road driving.

Safety Features
The Audi Q7 is equipped according to an intelligent, universal safety concept that recognises the demands imposed on a premium SUV. The impressive range of safety features takes the needs of the driver, the occupants and pedestrians into consideration.

Quattro
The effective combination of quattro permanent four-wheel-drive, an advanced version of Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), and innovative driver assistance systems help to avoid critical situations from the start, rather than let them develop.

High-strength bodyshell
The high-strength bodyshell, with its rigid safety zones, ensures that energy is absorbed in a controlled manner outside the occupants’ protective zone.

Compact Engines
Compact, low-height engines provide the necessary safety space between the engine cover and the aluminium bonnet, as called for in the Euro-NCAP test for pedestrian protection.

Passive safety systems
The sideguard® head airbag system extends over the entire side-window area down to the door cappings and for all three rows of seats, and remains inflated after triggering, in order to maintain occupant protection in the event of a secondary collision.
